Share After studying a year abroad in Alabama, it was official. Tobi Meinel wanted to come back to Tuscaloosa to finish the rest of his schooling in America. Originally from Erlangen, Germany, Meinel came to Tuscaloosa in 2000. Currently working on his PhD in American literature, Meinel is also a teacher at the university.
