Though the original location is in Barcelona, the brand has locations worldwide with prices ranging from $45 for their least expensive items to $400 for some of the brand’s higher end pieces.  Custo Barcelona also has online shopping available for fans of the brand that are not close to a store location.

With the recent economic crisis in Spain tightening many shoppers’ wallets, the brand has lowered their prices, making Custo more affordable for everyone as compared to their past collections.

“This [spring] collection, the prices are very low for everything,” Marcela Mazzini, the original Custo Barcelona store manager said. “It is the same quality, but Custo wants the people from Spain to wear his clothes. It is the same quality, but he had to put down his prices.”

However, the steep prices are well worth the splurge. The Catalan-designed clothing line appeared in television shows such as “Friends” and “Sex and the City.” Custo t-shirts are also seen on actresses Julia Roberts in “Runaway Bride” and Natalie Portman in “Anywhere But Here.”

Custo Barcelona sells more than just apparel. The brand creates everything from handbags to iPad cases and even suite cases, Mazzini said.

“That’s why a lot of girls like to shop here,” Carla Louise Butler, the store’s attendant, said. “They know their friend wont have the same bag anywhere else.”

Each creation is inspired by California surfer wear—natural scenes in eye-catching colors. Pairing the unique pieces may present somewhat of a challenge, but the sales attendants at each store location are more than willing to help their clients incorporate Custo into their everyday wardrobe, almost like personalized shoppers.

“Maybe you’ll get a shock with so much color, but after five minutes, you love all of the things,” Mazzini said.
