Tobogganing gone awry

So, the Bissells and Chris are not the only ones who have been sledding in the Alps. Saturday Megan, Sarah, Lindsey and I tackled the Eiger Run on our rented toboggans–15 CHF each for the day. The weather was a little intimidating. We could barely see 5 feet in front of us, but the path was easy to follow and the foggy mist lent an air of excitement to our adventure. Getting started, as you will see in the video below, was a little tough sometimes. We tended to scoot for about ten feet until we came to enough of an incline. It was fun, and funny, and I hope you enjoy this little piece of our day, and me completely wiping out. (In front of the train going by, no less. Hopefully the clouds were too thick for them to see me…)

I would most definitely reccommend this winter sport to anyone visiting the Alps or mountains in general!

The last time I saw a bunch of people have so much fun with a sled, I was stationed on a mountain top in Japan about 1953. They took off down the slope, hit a bare spot and kept sleighing, but the sled stopped. We laughed about it for months. You will have many fond
memories as well. We are on your team; so have fun and enjoy life as we do.
