About Alpine Living

Alpine Living is an award-winning international travel magazine created and edited
entirely by University of Alabama students as a masterpiece “Capstone project”
showcasing all of the journalistic skills that they have honed during their time
at the University. Every other year, a group of about 20 staffers travels to a new
location near the Alps for a period of two weeks to create more than 100 pages of
glossy editorial content, providing service journalism travel writing to countless
readers.

For our fifth edition, we will travel to Spain in March to delve into a culture
renowned for tapas, flamenco dancing, bullfighting, and the likes of Antoni Gaudi,
Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. We’ll report back to you from several places
throughout our journey including: Barcelona, Basque Country, Madrid, Sevilla,
and, as a convenient side trip for our readers, Lisbon, Portgual. We’ll write about
everything from dining on a budget to dressing like a Spaniard to where to get the
best wine. We’ll also cover our experience in Spain during Holy Week, the hottest
nightlife scene, how to navigate some of the most beautiful beaches in the world,
why you should visit the Rock of Gibraltar and much, much more.
